Setup Central Bank of India Account with Paytm
Step 1: Verify Mobile Number Consistency
Before you begin, it’s crucial to ensure that your mobile number registered with Paytm matches the one registered with Central Bank of India. This is essential for a seamless process. If both numbers are different then you can’t add your bank account to Paytm.
Step 2: Open the Paytm Application
Unlock your smartphone and open the Paytm application.
Step 3: Access Your Profile section
Within the Paytm app, navigate to the profile section. You can do this by tapping on your profile picture, typically located in the top right or left corner of the app’s main screen.
Step 4: Access UPI and Payment Settings
In the profile section, you will find various options. Look for and select “UPI and Payment Settings.” This is where you’ll configure your UPI account.
Step 5: Add a New Bank Account
Within the “UPI and Payment Settings” section, locate and tap on the “Add New Bank Account” option. This is the crucial step where you connect your Central Bank of India account to Paytm.
Step 6: Select Your Bank
From the list of available banks, choose “Central Bank of India.” This selection is vital as it links your specific bank account to Paytm.
Step 7: Mobile Number Verification
Once you’ve selected Central Bank of India, Paytm will initiate an SMS verification process. An SMS will be sent from your Central Bank of India-registered mobile number to verify its authenticity. Ensure that your mobile has sufficient balance to send this SMS.
Step 8: Select Use Debit Card option
After successfully verifying your mobile number, you’ll be prompted to create your UPI PIN. Opt for the “Use Debit Card” option and proceed.
Step 9: Enter Debit Card Details
On the following screen, input the last 6 digits of your ATM Debit Card and its expiry date. Once done, click on “Proceed to Set UPI PIN.”
Step 10: OTP Verification
To further enhance security, Paytm will send a 6-digit OTP (One-Time Password) to your Central Bank of India-registered mobile number. Enter this OTP in the designated field and submit it.
Step 11: ATM Debit Card PIN
Subsequently, you’ll be asked to enter your ATM Debit Card PIN. Input it and submit.
Step 12: Set UPI PIN
You’re almost there! On the next screen, set your unique 4-digit UPI PIN. This will be your secret code for authorizing UPI transactions.
Step 13: Confirm UPI PIN
To ensure accuracy, re-enter your newly created UPI PIN on the following screen and confirm it.
