In Google Pay, you can transfer and receive money using UPI ID, mobile number, Bank account details, and QR code. Now you can also create your mobile number as a UPI number in Google Pay and receive or transfer money through any UPI application.
What is Google Pay UPI Number?
You can set up your Google Pay registered mobile number as your UPI number and receive or transfer money through any UPI application. Normally when you receive or transfer money using a mobile number, both (sender & receiver) should use the same UPI application but when you make your mobile number a UPI number, both (sender and receiver) can use different UPI applications.
Another benefit is that you don’t need to share complicated UPI ID or bank details, just share your mobile number (which is your UPI number) and receive or transfer money easily.
How To Set Google Pay Registered Mobile Number as UPI Number
No matter how many bank accounts you have linked with Google Pay (single or multiple), you can create a UPI number for any linked bank account and receive money in the same bank account.
(Step1) Open the Google Pay application and tap on the profile image and open the Profile section. Here you need to tap on the “Bank Account”
(Step 2) When you tap on the Bank Account option, next screen you can see your added (linked) bank account list, select the bank account to create your UPI number.
(Step 3) Next screen tap on the “Manage UPI Numbers” option on the selected bank account.
(Step 4) To make your mobile number your UPI number, tap on the (+) button.
(Step 5) All done! your Google Pay phone number is now your UPI number and the selected bank account is linked with this UPI number. You will receive all your received payments (money) in this bank account when the sender uses your UPI number for money transfer) & the sender can use any other UPI application.
Please note, if you have set up your mobile number as a UPI number in another UPI application then it will be removed.
