After a recent Supreme Court order , the Department of Telecom (DoT) has issued instructions to all mobile service providers to update the customer’s Aadhaar number to his/her mobile number.
This is only true for all prepaid and postpaid customers who have not activated their number through the new biometric based e-KYC process. This means that, if you activated your Vodafone number by submitting forms and paper documents earlier, you will now need to update your Aadhaar number against your mobile number. The last date to complete this is 31st March, 2018.
Vodafone customers can now easily link aadhaar with mobile number through IVR OTP based facility. You just need to dial toll-free number.
Here is step by step guide for vodafone customers.
Re-verify your Vodafone number with Aadhaar on IVR
Before you start, keep the following ready with you:-
- The Vodafone number you wish to re-verify – You will need to call the IVR using this number.
- Your Aadhaar number – Will need to be entered to initiate the process.
