You can transfer or receive money in UPI through UPI ID, mobile number, UPI number, and Qr code. UPI ID also called VPA (virtual payment address) which linked to your primary bank account to receive money. You can share it with the sender to receive money in your bank account via UPI.
Paytm UPI now lets you create your new UPI ID and link it with your primary bank account. Till now you you could not change your UPI ID in Paytm and also could not create a new UPI ID for your UPI account.
But now Paytm UPI users can create a new UPI ID and change the default UPI ID with a new one to receive money.
How To Create a New UPI ID in Paytm UPI Account
(1) Open Paytm main menu options and select “UPI & Payment Settings”
(2) Next screen click on “Manage UPI IDs” where you can manage your UPI address.
(3) Next screen click on the “Add new UPI ID” button to create a new UPI address.
(4) You can see many UPI IDs suggestions here, select any one and proceed further.
(5) That’s it you have successfully created a new UPI ID for your UPI account.
(6) Your new UPI ID is now set as your primary UPI ID and it will be displayed to others when you send or receive money via UPI. If you want to create another UPI ID then click on “Edit” and select a new one from suggestions.
Your default UPI ID will remain active and you can share it to receive money. You can not edit or delete it. If you want to make your default UPI ID primary, you need to remove new UPI ID first.
So this is the way you can add a new UPI ID in Paytm account and change primary UPI ID.
