The Government of India has now made the Aadhaar card necessary for taking a new SIM card, you can not buy a new SIM card without Aadhaar card.
If you purchased a SIM card using any other ID proof except the Aadhar card then you must link your Aadhaar with mobile number.
Here I am going to guide Airtel users – how to link Aadhaar with Airtel Mobile number.
Link Aadhaar With Airtel Number
This whole process take less than 5 minutes, so do not think that you do not have the time.
Airtel has requested its customers to link the aadhar card to mobile number before 6/02/2016 otherwise their services may be interrupted.
If you are an Airtel customer then follow this guide and register your Aadhaar card to your mobile number.
1 Take your Aadhaar card (original) with Airtel mobile number and visit your nearest Airtel Store. If Airtel Store not exist then do not worry, now most of mobile shops provide this facility so you can visit nearest mobile store and do this work.
2 Visit the Mobile Shop or Airtel Store and tell them to link Aadhar card with Mobile number.
Now the store person will send OTP to your Airtel Mobile Number. Provide OTP to that person.
3 Now you have to give your Aadhaar number and complete the Biometric Authentication. Your Fingerprint is scanned in Biometric Authentication. We also call it e-KYC. In which you have to keep your finger on the Fingerprint Scanner machine and after the successful Scan, the e-KYC process is completed.
After successful e-kyc process, you will receive confirmation SMS within 24 hours. You need to reply this message by typing Y. And you are done!
Your Airtel number now successfully linked with Aadhaar number.
